The motive for being good

I was thinking....

"A good deed is its own reward". A very normal yet life-changing statement. My mom made this statement to me years back and it'll always be a code I stand by.

Building your mindset on this very statement as a Believer is probably one of the best ways to show how good Jesus is. It also proves that you have offered yourself as a living sacrifice to God.

It may look very casual or common to others but it shouldn't be for us... It's an integral part of our Christianity.

Our Lord, Jesus, and the Apostles of the new testament highly emphasized on showing charity, kindness and goodness to others.

Jesus gave us an example to follow...
St. John 13:14-15
"And since I, the Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other's feet. I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you." [NLT]

Apostle Paul emphasized on it...
Ephesians 4:31-32
"Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of malicious behavior. Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you." [NLT]

Apostle Peter as well...
1 Peter 3:8 Finally, all of you should be of one mind, full of sympathy toward each other, loving one another with tender hearts and humble minds.[NLT]

For we Christians, showing others love and kindness is an instruction by Jesus.
Jesus did it. It's necessary that we follow suit.

There shouldn't any other motive to being a nice person than "It's who Jesus is" and "it's whom we're called to be".

The Bible proves to us that the Spirit which we have received expresses goodness.
Ephesians 5:9
"For the fruit (the effect, the product) of the Light or the Spirit [consists] in every form of kindly goodness, uprightness of heart, and trueness of life." [AMP]

God's spirit dwells in every Believer. Hence, it would be rather odd for a Christian to exhibit any form of hate. If he/she does, then it means that they are walking (living) according to the flesh and not the Spirit.

Galatians 5:16
"So I advise you to live according to your new life in the Holy Spirit. Then you won't be doing what your sinful nature craves." [NLT]

The moment we come to the understanding of the new life we've been given, and begin to live in it, God's love will easily be expressed through us and the world will see how amazing He is.

Just a thought.

Blessed? 👋

Justification by Faith

𝗧𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰: Justified by Faith 𝗧𝗲𝘅𝘁: Romans 5 vs 1  "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ"     Justification, in context with the verse above, means to be absolved (to set free, release ) and declared free of blame or sin.     Through the Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, all those who believe in him are justified or set free of sin. Romans 4:25  "Who was betrayed and put to death because of our misdeeds and was raised to secure our justification (our acquittal), [making our account balance and absolving us from all guilt before God]."     𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 "𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧"? [Righteousness, standing acceptable to God] will be granted and credited to us also who believe in (trust in, adhere to, and rely on) God, Who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead," ...
