Understanding God

Beloved, let your understanding of God be based on what is written in the scriptures.

.

.

.

See, when you have a poor understanding of the scriptures or no understand at all, you will percieve the character and personality of God amiss.

.

.

.

One thing you must understand is that Jesus Christ is the true and perfect description of God.

Look at Hebrews 1 vs 3

Hebrews 1:1 This Son perfectly mirrors God, and is stamped with God's nature. He holds everything together by what he says—powerful words!

The Son is how God is. Jesus is God in the flesh.

.

.

.

Every single description and understanding of God outside of the person of Christ is very wrong.

.

.

.

Look at this, every single person on Earth, after the Fall of Adam, until Christ came chose to have little or no understanding of who God was.

Romans 1:28

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

They chose not to retain God in the knowledge. The decided to forget about the true God and made the their God into idols.

.

.

.

Man made religion. Yes, worshipping an idol, as if it is God, is religion!

.

.

.

Luke 1:68

Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he has visited and redeemed his people,

He visited His people through Christ, as Christ.

.

.

.

You need to understand that Jesus Christ is God in the flesh. So when you are saying what God will do, make sure it's what Jesus would do.

.

.

.

Even Moses and the Law, which was a shadow of what is to come, is not the perfect explanation of God's personality.

Hebrews 10:1

For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

If Jesus is the perfect explanation of God's nature and personality, then you should know that anythingng written before Christ came with a poor understanding of God.

.

.

.

Now what is God's nature?

1 John 4:8

He that loves not knows not God; for God is love.

.

.

.

God is love. Every action taken towards us by God is because of love.

Apostle Paul gives us a description of who God is in 1cor 13 vs 1-the end.

.

.

.

God is love. God is good. God is life. God is the best thing we could ever want!

The Truth

People tend to only understand what they believe in. . . . That's the scary thing about this life. People tend to only have understanding of what they believe in and only that. . . . Look at a child struggling with maths, for example. That little boy or girl is not dumber than the other ones or not blunter then the rest. The kid just doesn't believe in the subject, maths, for satisfaction.  . . . The little kid rather plays a lot of video games or watch movies and cartoons 24/7. Why? That's what the kid believes in for satisfaction. Hence he understands everything about video games and doesn't have a clue about anything regarding maths. . . . The same applies to every human being. Every single individual are more likely to have an understanding in what he or she believes is the Truth. . . . That's why there are diverse religions, political ideologies, conspiracy theories e.t.c. Also consisting of people who have gone deep into that specific belief. These people are...

The motive for being good

I was thinking....     "A good deed is its own reward". A very normal yet life-changing statement. My mom made this statement to me years back and it'll always be a code I stand by.     Building your mindset on this very statement as a Believer is probably one of the best ways to show how good Jesus is. It also proves that you have offered yourself as a living sacrifice to God.     It may look very casual or common to others but it shouldn't be for us... It's an integral part of our Christianity.       Our Lord, Jesus, and the Apostles of the new testament highly emphasized on showing charity, kindness and goodness to others.       Jesus gave us an example to follow... St. John 13:14-15 "And since I, the Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other's feet. I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you." [NLT]     Apostle Paul emphasized on it... Ephesian...
