No longer in sin

𝗡𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗶𝗻

Some people, at the moment of first glance, due to the tone or the boldness of the phrase above, might think this is an excerpt that condemns.

It's best if you read through.

(1)

Romans 6:1

"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?"

Romans 6:2

"God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?"

This text above has been used by many people unto condemnation or to exalt the "power" of sin. Thereby making the listener or reader become ignorant to the finished work of Christ by twicking with his/her emotions.

Let's use the law of pretext here.

 (2)

Romans 5:20

"Moreover the law entered, that the offense might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:"

Romans 5:21

" That as sin has reigned to death, even so might grace reign through righteousness to eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord."

In the previous Chapter, Apostle Paul is found using phrases like "Sin abounded/reigned, Grace abounds/reigns much more".

So the above verses are simply saying "Howsoever death and sin reigned (because of Adam), Grace and righteousness now reigns much more".

Meaning the effect of sin during the time of Adam is now ineffective and Grace in Christ now reigns much more than it ever did.

So here, the Above verses (2) is not placing emphasis on sin but giving much more authority to Grace.

Romans 6:1

"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?"

Romans 6:2

"God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?"

To understand Romans 6 vs 1, let's use the law of pretext

(3)

Romans 6:10

For by the death He died, He died to sin [ending His relation to it] once for all; and the life that He lives, He is living to God [in unbroken fellowship with Him].

Romans 6:11

Even so consider yourselves also dead to sin and your relation to it broken, but alive to God [living in unbroken fellowship with Him] in Christ Jesus.

The above verses (3) explain to us that through Christ Jesus, we are no longer in fellowship with sin because we are dead to it but we, who have believed, are now alive to God.

That means we are now in an unbroken fellowship with God through Christ.

So explaining this verse 👇

 Romans 6:1

"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?"

Romans 6:2

"God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?"

Note it said, can we continue IN sin? Not IN sin but TO sin?

Therefore the answer is NO because we are dead to sin. (We are no longer alive in sin/ sin has no effect on our relationship with God).

We can no longer be found in sin. God cannot see you in sin because you are not there.

You are now in Christ. You are now in an eternal fellowship with God.

Therefore you cannot be a sinner. As you have put your Faith in Christ, you are righteous. You are perfect. You are beautiful. Without blemish or spots. No rigor or any substance can be found in you.

Why?

You are no longer in sin. You are in Christ.

THE TRUE PLAN AND INTENTION OF GOD

TRUE PLAN AND INTENTION OF GOD Romans 9:22  And the same is true of what God has done. He wanted to show his anger and to make his power known. But he was very patient in enduring those who were the objects of his anger, who were doomed to destruction. Romans 9:23  And he also wanted to reveal his abundant glory, which was poured out on us who are the objects of his mercy, those of us whom he has prepared to receive his glory. During the time of the Law, God was supposed to show his anger to Man for their sins but he was very patient.  What is God's anger? The departure of his presence. He would leave those that has rejected Him. Outside of God is destruction. God knew that we were doomed for destruction. Due to the greatness and richness of love he has for us, he focused more on getting us saved than our flaws.  "He is not slow in fulfilling his promises but he is patient, that all may come to repentance." God's plan has also been to show us his abundance of Glory.

The New life

Lean on God

Beloved, do not lean or trust on yourself to please God but trust in Christ Jesus. . . . You can never please God by your works. It is impossible.  . . . In the old testament, it is said that a man's act of righteousness is as a "filthy rag" unto God. Good works was just not enough to meet the standard of being right with God. . . . But even though we were like filthy rags, He still loved us. With an unending and everlasting love. . . . In the book of Romans 5 vs 8, Apostle Paul "But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners." . . . God didn't come to die for us because of we've been good our whole lives, He died for us because we've been bad and were still doing bad. . . . This is not a reward, it's a gift. This was not earned, it is free. It was not works but Grace. Ephesians 2:5  Even when we were dead in sins, has quickened us together with Christ, (by grace you are saved)!!! . . . Christ h
