𝗧𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰: Justified by Faith
𝗧𝗲𝘅𝘁: Romans 5 vs 1
"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ"
Justification, in context with the verse above, means to be absolved (to set free, release ) and declared free of blame or sin.
Through the Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, all those who believe in him are justified or set free of sin.
Romans 4:25
"Who was betrayed and put to death because of our misdeeds and was raised to secure our justification (our acquittal), [making our account balance and absolving us from all guilt before God]."
𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞 "𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧"? By Faith
Romans 4:24
"But [they were written] for our sakes too. [Righteousness, standing acceptable to God] will be granted and credited to us also who believe in (trust in, adhere to, and rely on) God, Who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead,"
Romans 4:25
"Who was betrayed and put to death because of our misdeeds and was raised to secure our justification (our acquittal), [making our account balance and absolving us from all guilt before God]."
The moment we believe in Jesus and have Faith in what he has done for us, we are justified.
However, I want us to note two things which are significant.
(1)

For a person to be Justified or acquitted, there must have been an accusation made against him or a punishment he must have been given (which perhaps could have already begun).
The same is applicable for mankind. Meaning that before Jesus died for the world, there was an accusation against them which was what? 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒊𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝑨𝒅𝒂𝒎 𝒐𝒓 𝑺𝒊𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒍.
There's a reason why "𝑺𝒊𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝑨𝒅𝒂𝒎" is emphasized which is because that's where the allegation or accusation started.
If you read Genesis 3, you will see where Adam sinned and was told by God the consequences of his Sin. The sin on Adam had a devastating effect on Mankind.

Romans 5:12
"Therefore, as sin came into the world through one man, and death as the result of sin, so death spread to all men, [no one being able to stop it or to escape its power] because all men sinned."
The "𝑶𝒏𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒏" above is referring to Adam. Through his disobedience, sin came into the world.
Hence, Adam's disobedience was the charge/accusation against humanity.
John 1:29
"The next day John sees Jesus coming to him, and said, Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world."
Hence, because Adam's transgression was the source of bad conducts, Adam's transgression and every single sin that came from the source (Adam) was what we were justified from.
(2)
𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨 𝐉𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬
Romans 5:1
"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:"
Before the Death and Resurrection of Jesus, which led to the justification of those who believe, Mankind was headed to Hell.
The law of Moses was given as a means to attain righteousness but couldn't work.
Hebrews 10:1
"For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect."
The Law could never make anyone perfect.
Hebrews 7:19
"For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw near to God."
It could never handle sin, the enmity between us an God, once and for all.
Romans 7:8
"But sin, finding opportunity in the commandment [to express itself], got a hold on me and aroused and stimulated all kinds of forbidden desires (lust, covetousness). For without the Law sin is dead [the sense of it is inactive and a lifeless thing]."
The law made the power of sin to be enhanced.
Romans 8:3
"For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:"
The Law was weak in the flesh.
Hence, God came in the form of Jesus and became the end of the Law and made the requirements of the law to be met in us.
Romans 8:4
"That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit."
Therefore, this Justification was not gotten by us but was gotten FOR us.
So it's wrong to say "good works" takes you to Heaven when it is clearly what the Bible didn't say.
Also, since it (justification) was given to us, it cannot be worked for since it's already given. It must be received.
Justification is received by Faith.
