THE GOSPEL part 1

THE GOSPEL part 1

What is the Gospel?

The Gospel is the message of GRACE..... as distinguished from the LAW.That means that the message of the Gospel (Grace) is a clearer image or better explanation of the message the Law was trying to portray.

*Colossians 2 vs 17

*Hebrews 10 vs 1

What is the Law?

Also known as the Torah, the Law is the name the Jews gave the first five books of Moses. It comprises of both the law given to Moses on Mount Sinai and the laws handwritten by Moses for the people of Israel.

The Law was made to prevent the people of Israel from sinning.

In Romans 2 vs 14, Apostle Paul revealed that there was also Law for the Gentiles such as Consciousness or thoughts judging their actions.

The Gospel cannot be fully understood and explained from the OLD TESTAMENT because Christ and His work is the true revelation. The Law was a faulty and unstable description of God's plan for mankind.

What is the Gospel?

"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him may not perish, but have Everlasting Life."

*John 3 vs 16

This verse gives a good description of the Gospel.

*Mark 16 vs 17-18

"The Message of God's goodnews in John 3 vs 16"

Do you know the story of Abraham?

*Genesis 12 vs 3

When the Statement  "in thee" was made here, the Hebrew translation is "בך" which translates to "in you"

Which was referring to his generation/offsprings which was still in the loins of Abraham. This was talking about Jesus.Jesus is the revelation of the Gospel.

Now someone would ask, "Was the Law bad or wrong?". No, but like I formally stated, it was shadow of the good that was to come.

What exactly was wrong with the Law?

▪️. The Law pointed at Man's Fault:

*Romans 3 vs 20

*Romans 7 vs 7

The law was what brought knowledge or consciousness of sin to man.

The Law could not stop sin in the Flesh.Because of the Law, guilt came in.What was the problem with Guilt? It made people have a great misconception of God.

Now the law was Holy and perfect. There was nothing writing on it that was wrong.

But Man was powerless to adhere to it because of the Flesh.

*Romans 7 vs 14

Man was spiritual dead and not having the capability of adhering to the Law, which was spiritual. It's even the Law that made Man dead, in Sin.

*Romans 7 vs 7-11

It was like a dead body, trying by his dead power or abilities to bring himself back to life.

The Law which was supposed to give life, made Man die the more because of constant reminder of their sins with the help of Guilt.

Man was spiritual dead because of the law. The Law couldn't give what man desperately needed. It couldn't give Life.

Man needed Life.

The motive for being good

I was thinking....     "A good deed is its own reward". A very normal yet life-changing statement. My mom made this statement to me years back and it'll always be a code I stand by.     Building your mindset on this very statement as a Believer is probably one of the best ways to show how good Jesus is. It also proves that you have offered yourself as a living sacrifice to God.     It may look very casual or common to others but it shouldn't be for us... It's an integral part of our Christianity.       Our Lord, Jesus, and the Apostles of the new testament highly emphasized on showing charity, kindness and goodness to others.       Jesus gave us an example to follow... St. John 13:14-15 "And since I, the Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other's feet. I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you." [NLT]     Apostle Paul emphasized on it... Ephesian...

According to scriptures, it is only through hearing and believing the Gospel that a person can receive the gift of salvation.  However, Apostle Paul lamented on this in his Epistle to the church in Rome..... "But how can people call on him if they have not believed in him? How can they believe in him if they have not heard his message? How can they hear if no one tells the Good News? How can people tell the Good News if no one sends them? As Scripture says, "How beautiful are the feet of the messengers who announce the Good News." [Romans 10:14-15 (God'sword)]       For the message of the Gospel to reach the world, people have to be appointed for it. Amazingly, we Believers have been entrusted with this responsibility.  The Bible says, in 2Corinthians, that.."𝑮𝒐𝒅 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒖𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒂𝒔𝒌 𝒐𝒇 𝒓𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝑯𝒊𝒎".        As Believers, we are God's ambassadors. We are witnesses ...

Who are the people you associate yourself with? Do they  make you a better person or not? This is a very essential question every Believer should ask themselves.     The Bible says in 1Corinthians 15:33 that...."𝑫𝒐 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒃𝒆 𝒔𝒐 𝒅𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒅! 𝑬𝒗𝒊𝒍 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒖𝒑𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒅𝒆𝒑𝒓𝒂𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒓, 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓" and it doesn't get truer than that.        If those who you call companions (close or influencial individuals) are carnally minded, you'll begin to exemplify their characters. Gradually, you'll begin to see your focus drift away from God to other unfruitful things.        No matter how spiritually sensitive you are, once you become closely entangled with a carnal mind or an Unbeliever, your mind will most likely get corrupted as well.     The Bible also says that..."𝒂 𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝒔𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒂...
